Walcott is a small coastal village in the north Norfolk district of England. It is located at the mouth of the River Bure, eight miles northeast of the city of Norwich. The village has a population of around 1,500 people, and its main attractions are its long sandy beach and its picturesque harbour.

The area of Walcott has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and the name Walcott is thought to be derived from the Old English words ‘wealh' and ‘cot', meaning ‘foreigner's cottage'. There is evidence of Roman presence in the area, and the village itself is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Throughout its long history, Walcott has been a fishing village, with some of the locals still engaged in this traditional occupation.

Walcott's beach is a popular tourist attraction and a great place for swimming and sunbathing. The sand is golden and the sea is usually calm and shallow, making it a safe environment for children. The beach is backed by a line of sand dunes, which are part of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

On the edge of the beach is the picturesque harbour of Walcott. It is home to a number of traditional fishing boats, and visitors can often see the locals unloading their catch at the quayside. The harbour is a popular spot for boat trips around the coast and fishing trips.

The village of Walcott is home to a number of small shops and cafes, all of which are set in a quaint and peaceful environment. There is a post office, a convenience store and two pubs. The Crown Inn is the main pub in the village and serves locally brewed ales and delicious meals.

Walcott is a great place to enjoy a peaceful break or a day trip. It is close to the larger resorts of Cromer and Sheringham, so visitors can easily explore the surrounding area. There are a number of coastal walks and cycle routes to enjoy, as well as a number of nature reserves nearby.

Walcott is an idyllic Norfolk village, with its sandy beach, picturesque harbour and traditional shops and pubs. It's a great destination for a relaxing break or day trip, and offers visitors a glimpse into a traditional English fishing village.
