Stiffkey is a small village located in the north Norfolk district of England, located approximately 7 miles east of the city of Holt and 12 miles west of the town of Wells-Next-The-Sea. It is a civil parish within the parish council of Holt, and the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The village is named after an old Anglo-Saxon word, “Stifec,” which translates to “stony creek” in English. The village has a long history as a fishing port, and it is believed to have been a thriving fishing village since the 12th century. The Stiffkey River is the main waterway that runs through the village, connecting the River Burn and the River Glaven.

Stiffkey is also home to the Stiffkey Saltmarsh, a protected area of saltmarsh which is home to a large number of different species of birds, as well as the rare and endangered marsh harrier. The saltmarsh is a great place to go for a walk, or to take a boat trip along the marsh to get a closer look at the wildlife.

The village of Stiffkey is also home to a number of historical buildings and sites, including Stiffkey Church, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 13th century. The church was built in the Norman style and has a central tower and nave, with a large porch and a north aisle. The church is still used for religious services today, and is well worth a visit.

Stiffkey is also home to the Red Lion, a traditional pub which has been serving locals and visitors alike since the 18th century. The pub is a great place to go for a drink and a bite to eat, and is a popular spot for live music on the weekends.
